Built for the day something needs fixing

A motor control centre will need maintenance at some point, and how easy that is depends on how the panel was built. We think about the electrician who will open the door in five years, possibly at night, under pressure to restart a line.

Compartments are separated so that work on one feeder does not expose live parts of another. Each unit is labelled clearly with the motor it controls, its rating and its circuit number. Nobody should have to guess which starter belongs to which pump.

Ratings deserve honest attention. We calculate busbar size, breaking capacity and cable space from the actual load list and fault level, not from a rule of thumb. An undersized busbar may work for years and then fail exactly when the plant is busiest.

Key Highlights

Separated compartments

Work on one feeder does not expose another.

Clear unit labelling

Motor, rating and circuit number on each unit.

Calculated ratings

Busbars and breaking capacity from actual loads.

Protection relay options

Closer monitoring where the plant wants it.

We offer fixed and draw-out arrangements depending on how critical each motor is and how much downtime you can tolerate. Options such as motor protection relays, ammeters and communication modules can be included when the plant wants closer monitoring.

Every MCC is tested in our workshop before dispatch, including insulation checks and functional operation of each starter. Drawings and a test record are supplied, and we are available should you need help at site.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add motor protection relays?

Yes. We can fit motor protection relays and communication modules for closer monitoring.

How do you test an MCC before dispatch?

We carry out insulation checks and operate each starter, then record the results for you.
